According to the blog, the game is not yet connected to the servers as the Madden team is doing 'final testing on a problem' that they've already submitted a solution to. The main problem seems to be coming from the PS5 version of Madden 21. On the official Madden blog, the Madden team gave more information on this early release and what players need to do to get their free upgrade. However, many features of Madden 21 won't be available to those players until a later date thanks to some last-minute bugs.
The 'dual entitlement' upgrade is available to those who own the digital or disc versions of the game. Madden fans rejoice!
